China Wok Restaurant in Grand Island

The General Tsos chicken is sweet and sour style chicken with orange sauce. No spice. The eggrolls taste like wet, filled grease Twinkies. I hope Tai Pei reopens soon.

Old outdated location. Ordered General Tso's chicken near the end of the night to go and when I got home realized they gave me Sweet 'n Sour chicken in General Tso's sauce. Not thrilled but wasn't about to go back that late at night, which they knew. Pretty shady if you ask me, won't go back.

If you get anything other than a lunch order its a rip off. Ordering a full cost 8+ dollar combo gives you the same stuff as a lunch minus a single egg roll. The pictures from past stuff show large containers now they are small and you get a hand full of pieces of meat and some rice in a little container. Its a joke. I am all for supporting places on the island but this is not ok.

DO NOT DO IT!!!!I went here yesterday for the first time, and it was by far the worst Chinese food I ever had. I ate Chinese food from NY to FL and every state in between and never had such horrible food, dry and taste horrible. I will surely never eat here again and I’m disappointed I even wasted my money to begin with.

One of the best Chinese restaurants on the Island...we get take out atleast once a week from them....

The worst place to ever eat!! I got food poisoning from the chicken. This was my first time going. The floors were disgusting! Also the girl that took our order was so rude.

Hands down the best value you can get for lunch specials. Food is made within minutes and they have a decent selection of soups to select from. Most of the time I usually phone in an order, but it is a pretty short wait when ordering on the spot. I find their hot & sour soup to be pretty impressive. Service is normally always friendly and helpful.

The over priced general tso chicken is just sweet an sour chicken with pepper flakes in the sweet an sour sauce. Btw your combo doesn't come with a drink and the owner's kids fail to mention that when ordering so they try and scam an extra $2 out of you for their $5 minimum debit card charge that is also failed to mention! Horrible place to go for Chinese food while traveling through Buffalo.

I have a hard time giving this establishment 1 star. It honestly takes a lot for me to say a restaurant is horrible, but here we go. First off, this restaurant doesn’t have a bathroom?!?!? While the food came out fast I now see why - the soup was bland and my lunch combo came out far from hot, as if it was sitting in a hardly heated steam tray. The shrimp smelled off, the pork tasteless and chicken was just weird. The veggies were ok, but the sauce was starchy and pasty. The fried rice was ok.

I never got my fork or my fortune cookie. The cookie is the best part.

Great lunch specials, but the chicken is processed. Your young kids will be happy, but it leave adult palates wanting for more.

I usually go to the other Chinese restaurant on Grand Island but due to a fire there, I went to China Wok for my Chinese food fix. Overall I was not impressed. I ordered the Dinner for Two and chose Moo Goo Gai Pan and chicken lo mien. The included side of ribs were very meaty and full of flavor. The egg rolls and the MGGP fell flat on flavor and is barely worth mentioning. The lo mien had more flavor and was okay. The 2/1 deal also included won ton soup but again it fell flat in the flavor department. IF or when the Tai Pei restaurant reopens, I'll definitely return and leave this place behind.

I order shrimp egg for young.the shrimp were a great size and plump and juicy a lot of shrimp ....food seasoned well,no need for soy sauce..i am visiting from Baltimore disnt know wher to get anything to eat from.i didnt know any locals so i tried my hand .it was good

I've been going to China Wok restaurant since 1987. It is a family owned business and the quality of their food is amazing. Prices are fair and reasonable. They do not use any MSG in their food, which is a huge plus. I've never had anything on their huge menu that I didn't like. It is a very simple clean operation and I highly recommend this place to passers by, residents, campers and Canadians. It's worth every penny.

We love the food but dont like the fact is not bathroom available, but i cant conplaint about food it was deliciuos and fresh cooked on the moment i will give 5 starts but because of the bathroom not there i dont.

Roach in the Rice. Manager apologized & refunded our money. Still sick over the experience as we have patronized this take out restarant monthly for over 25 years. Can not go back.

this place is absolutely disgusting. i had to throw my food away within a minute of eating it . the chicken was barely cooked and the noodles to soggy . the girl behind the counter was eating while giving my money back . rude on the phone and just overall a waste of money and time i recommend this place be shut down . spread the word

Absolutely rude we has to eat our food with it being in take out containers and paper plates ,service was mediocre. I could barely finish eating because they have no high chair for young children to sit in ,I was told they were closing while the owner could still see I had food on my plate. I was completely rushed it was so bad my mother left. Completely horrible experience I will not go back .

We eat lunch here most every day. The place doesn't look like much, but trust me. You can not get any more fresh vegetable filled Chinese food anywhere. My favorite is the shrimp with mixed vegetables lunch special. It is a huge portion taking up half of a plate, the other half is filled with white or fried rice, you also get a can of pop and a bowl of soup for under $6.00. The pea pods snap in your mouth, the broccoli has crunch. It is the best.

i have been going here for a long time and i really enjoy the food here. they have the best lo mein and tai pei is nothing compared to china wok. i come here all the time and they never upset me once! love it!

Must of went at wrong time of day 3:45pm some dishes not filled and rather cool in temperature. Also have always gotten Senior discount without asking-not this time and didn't make correction on bill even after asking 😕
